  • SVP presents Haunted Theater

    Suwannee Valley Players will present its 2nd annual Haunted Theater.   The theme for this year’s event is All Things Scary; each room has been designed to bring the spectator a different thrill.  

    There are monsters, vampires, spiders, clowns, zombies…well, you get the idea.  If it is scary, it is at the Chief Theater. 

  • Walk for Life is this Saturday

    The 11th annual Walk for Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23. 

    Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and the Walk will commence at 9 a.m. at the Tri-County Pregnancy Center. 

    This year there will also be family-friendly activities and a free lunch to all pre-registered walkers. 

    So dust off your walking shoes and come join the others at your local Walk site. 

    For those who cannot walk Saturday, sponsoring a walker is a great way to show your support of life.

    WGP Clean Up
    The Friends of the Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve (WGP) will meet Sunday, Sept. 26, from 1-3 p.m. to do some maintenance at the Preserve, 1001 Old Rock Road, Yankeetown.  The public is invited to help keep the WGP a great place to visit.     The Bell WoodTurners (“BWT”), the north central Florida chapter of the American Association of Woodturners, (“AAW”) is having their 9th annual Demo/Sale day July 10 at the Bell Community Center (on Highway 129) in Bell. The fun begins at 9 a.m. and goes until 3 p.m. BWT serves woodturners in Alachua, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchris, Lafayette and Levy counties.

    The Levy County Tourist Development Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday, June 29 at 6 p.m. at the Levy County Agricultural Center, 625 N. Hathaway Ave., Bronson.

    On the agenda is the review of an advertising grant application.

    Free Car Wash

    There will be a free car wash Saturday, July 3 at “Food 4 Less” from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

    Funds will help send local soccer teams to the Nationals.
