  • Decorate a pizza box and win

    Angelina Mia’s Restaurant in Williston is offering a “Painted Pizza Box Contest” in conjunction with the Levy County Fair.
    Every month there will be a total of 30 boxes available to be picked up at the restaurant on West Noble Avenue.
     Paint the box any way you like and bring it back by the end of the month.  Boxes will be judged monthly and the top three winners from each month will receive a free large pizza.

    Love and Remembrance Memorial
    The Haven Hospice Love and Remembrance Memorial is open to anyone in the community who has lost a loved one. Attendees are encouraged to bring pictures and mementos of loved ones that can be placed on our Table of Memories. Refreshments will be served. Registration is not required.
    The memorial will be held Thursday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. at Haven Hospice Tri-Counties Care Center, 311 N.E. 9th St., Chiefland. Call Haven Hospice at 352-493-2333 for more information.

  • SVP presents Haunted Theater

    Suwannee Valley Players will present its 2nd annual Haunted Theater.   The theme for this year’s event is All Things Scary; each room has been designed to bring the spectator a different thrill.  

    There are monsters, vampires, spiders, clowns, zombies…well, you get the idea.  If it is scary, it is at the Chief Theater. 

  • Walk for Life is this Saturday

    The 11th annual Walk for Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23. 

    Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and the Walk will commence at 9 a.m. at the Tri-County Pregnancy Center. 

    This year there will also be family-friendly activities and a free lunch to all pre-registered walkers. 

    So dust off your walking shoes and come join the others at your local Walk site. 

    For those who cannot walk Saturday, sponsoring a walker is a great way to show your support of life.

    WGP Clean Up
    The Friends of the Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve (WGP) will meet Sunday, Sept. 26, from 1-3 p.m. to do some maintenance at the Preserve, 1001 Old Rock Road, Yankeetown.  The public is invited to help keep the WGP a great place to visit.
