    April

    Movie in the Park

    The city of Williston will present a Movie in the Park Friday, April 28 at 7 p.m. at the Heritage Park Pavilion.

    Admission is free and popcorn and drink will be provided free of charge. Bring a chair or blanket and your family and enjoy.

    Timber Harvesting Class

    The College of Central Florida will launch its new Timber Harvesting Equipment Program May 8. The deadline to apply for the program is Friday, April 28.

    WW II Vets and Proud of it will meet Thursday, April 13 at 11 a.m. at Beef O Brady’s, located north of Chiefland at 7050 NE 140th St. off Hwy 19.

    Library Rock Painting

    The Levy County Public Libraries will host rock painting at all its libraries in April. Open to all ages, the event will begin at 6 p.m. and all materials are provided.

    Bring your family and join in the fun at the Bronson Library on April 17 or the Williston Library April 19.

    CEE Luncheon

    Citizens for an Engaged Electorate hosts their monthly Open Discussion Luncheon on Thursday, April 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Melanie's Restaurant, 112 E. Noble in Williston. Join any discussion going on within the group or start one of your own. No topic is off-limits, so long as the discussion is kept respectful.

    Free Movie In The Park

    The city of Williston will host a Movie in the Park Friday, March 24 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Heritage Park Pavilion.

    Popcorn and drinks are provided free.

    Yard Sale

    Rapscallion to the Rescue will host a yard sale Saturday, March 25 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Heritage Park Pavilion on Main Street in Williston.

    All proceeds go toward RttR programs such as Fix it Forward, a spay/neuter initiative for Levy County. The group will also sell raffle tickets for a family four pack of Disney tickets.

    Wizard of Oz Debuts

    The Chief Theatre will present The Wizard of Oz each weekend through March 19 with a matinee March 18.

    Tickets are $10 for students, seniors, the military and first responders; $12 for adults.

    Tourism Council

    The Levy County Tourist Development Council will meet Thursday, March 2 at 6 p.m. at 620 N Hathaway Avenue, Bronson, FL (U.S. Alt. 27) –Levy County Road Dept. Office Building.

    Wizard of Oz Debuts

    The Chief Theatre will debut The Wizard of Oz March 3. The show will run each weekend through March 19 with matinees on March 11 and March 18.

    Tickets are $10 for students, seniors, the military and first responders; $12 for adults.

    Concealed Weapon Class

    Covenant Connection Marriage Ministry of Unity Temple International Fellowship in their fundraising efforts will have a Basic Pistol Class through the Levy County Sheriff’s Office Saturday, Feb. 25. The cost of the class is $65.

    Each participant must bring picture ID. You can also bring your gun, ear and eye protection and 25 rounds of ammunition if you have it.

    The class will begin promptly at 8 a.m. at the Levy County Sheriff’s Office Classroom, located at 9150 NE 80th Ave. Bronson, FL 32621.

    Cowboy Bob At The Library

    As part of the Black Stallion Literacy Program Cowboy Bob and his Gyspy pony, Max will be visiting the Levy County Public Library System. Cowboy Bob will read stories around the campfire. Then each child at the program will get to visit with his real Gyspy pony, Max. The events are free to youth of all ages and their families.

    Cowboy Bob will be at the Williston Public Library 6 p.m. Feb. 22.

    WWII Vets

    World War II Vets will meet Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at the Ivy House in Williston. This is open to all WW II vets, their spouses or caregivers.

    Hunter Safety Course

    The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is offering free hunter safety internet-completion courses in February.

    Students who have taken the online course and wish to complete the classroom portion must bring the online-completion report with them.
