What started out as a complaint about checks allegedly being written on a closed account, ended with two women arrested on drug charges.
Williston Police Officers were called to Hitchcock’s May 5 after the manager reported that a woman had bounced several checks and paid for merchandise on a closed account.
The officers met with two women in the parking lot.
When Brenda C. Brust, 43, of Hawthorne was told to empty her pockets, she produced an empty Tic-Tac container, the arrest report said.
The plastic container held a white substance that tested for cocaine, the report said.
Brust was charged with uttering uncurrent bills and possession of cocaine,
Her companion, Michelle M. Beer, 45, of Hawthorne was also charged with uttering uncurrent bills and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, while the police officer was speaking with the Hitchcock’s manager, he saw a burnt glass tube on the ground next to the left tire of Beer’s vehicle. Beer denied ownership of the crack pipe.
Also arrested by the Williston Police Department were:
• William C. Dean, 39, of Bronson, charged May 6 with driving while license suspended or revoked.
• Chastity Anderson, 32, of Williston, charged May 10 with domestic battery.
• Holly Butler, 31, of Old Town, arrested on two active 2008 warrants.
• Dwayne Jacques Edwards, 25, charged May 8 with resisting without violence following a traffic stop.
