WES teacher chosen as Levy's Best

Ana Armbrister honored

A Williston Elementary School teacher has been named Levy County’s Teacher of the Year.

Ana L. Armbrister teaches 4th Grade at WES. According to a news release from the School Board office, she has been teaching in Levy County since August 2004 and was unanimously chosen “Teacher of the Year” by her peers.

She cosponsors the WES Safety Patrols and serves as a member of the School Advisory Council and Parent Teacher Organization.

She also serves on two State of Florida Department of Education Teams: The English Speakers of Other Languages Instructional Materials Committee and the Florida Teacher Certification Examination K-6 Test Development Committee.

She consistently plans and teaches lessons to fit the diverse needs of her students and has supervised interns from the University of Florida and the University of Central Florida.

The district also announced that Kathleen Walker, Hilltop Alternative School, has been chosen District ESP of the Year.

She is currently the Lab Manager at Hilltop and has worked in Levy County for eight years.

According to the release, Mrs. Walker is a consummate team player, always willing to take on additional responsibilities to make her school better.

Kathy approaches her duties as a professional, completing a variety of tasks with exemplary quality and service.

Mrs. Walker’s Novel lab has received district recognition for its outstanding organization and management.
