cook-off set

The second annual Bronson Church of God barbecue cook-off will be held Saturday, March 28, starting at 4:30 p.m. at the church. Chicken and pulled pork are $5 per plate each, and whole Boston butts are $20 each. For information call 486-4924.

Seven speakers

at Jones Temple

Jones Temple Church of God in Christ will be having a seven-speaker program, Saturday, March 28, at 6:30 p.m. We will have seven speakers for 5-10 minutes each.

We have Kenya Gardner, Serena Bostick, Minister Cynthia Phillips, Missionary Campbell, Deacon James and Melinda Jelks. They all will speak on different subjects such as: Stand up, Lift up, Speak up, Dress up, Get up and Head up. This is a fundraiser for the Good Shepherd Program honoring Pastor Reginald and Sister Rose Williams.

No book fair

to be held in April

There will not be a Friends of the Williston Public Library Book Fair in April.

Normally a First Saturday Book Fair would be held April 4.

The next “Friends” Book Fair will be on Saturday, May 2 in the Williston City Hall Community Center. The May Book Fair will the last one until Saturday, Sept. 5.

SHINE for elderly

to hold meetings

Do you have questions about Medicare, Medicaid, Supplemental Insurance, Part D Prescription Drug Plans, or Medicare Billings?

If you do, come see SHINE, a volunteer program with the Florida Department of Elder Affairs. SHINE provides free, unbiased and confidential assistance. If you cannot come to a site or want to know a site close to you, call the Elder Helpline at 1-800-262-2243.

SHINE’s next site is on: Wednesday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Williston Public Library and from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Bronson Public Library.

Relay takes place

on April 3-4

Relay for Life will take place on Friday, April 3 beginning at 6 p.m. at Booster Stadium at WHS. The opening lap will honor cancer survivors and the second lap will honor caregivers. A survivor dinner to follow the opening ceremony.

An AARP driving class will be held April 6 and 7, starting at 9 a.m. each day, at the Bronson Road Baptist Church, 13830 N.E. 80th Ave., Bronson.
