The Williston Pioneer Sun News is putting together it's annual map for the Trail of Treaters on Oct. 31 in downtown Williston. Peanut contests

Calling all contestants!

Friday, Sept. 26 is the last day to submit applications for the Little Peanut King, Queen and Baby contest which will be held at the 20th annual Central Florida Peanut Festival on Oct. 4.

If you haven't submitted your child's application it must be in the Chamber office by noon on Sept. 26.

For further information or locations where you can pick up an application call the Chamber office at 528-5552.

4-H Roundup

rescheduled

Levy County 4-H will hold its annual Round-up Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Round-up will be held at the Extension Office in Bronson. The Hartley Barbecued Chicken Contest will begin at 8 a.m. For information and rules about the barbecue contest please call Haley at 486-5131. You must preregister with Haley by 4 p.m. on Sept. 25.

Round-up is a chance for everyone to come see what 4-H is about. You will have the opportunity to look over project books and ask questions. Each club will have a display set up about what their club's interests are. Each club will also have a make and take craft or activity for the kids. Door prizes will be given out throughout the day. Everyone is invited to stay for a lunch of barbecued chicken. We ask that each family brings a covered dish and or dessert. If you have any questions please call Mrs. Evelyn at 486-5131.

Mini Bible School

to be Saturday

A mini Vacation Bible School will be held Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (lunch provided) at the Williston Church of Christ, State Road 121 North next to the Masonic Lodge. There will be Bible classes for all ages, arts, crafts, singing and much more.

Flu shot clinic

to be Saturday

Williston Area AARP Chapter 912 will hold the annual "Flu Shot Clinic" on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 250 N.E. 6th Blvd. (SR 121), Williston. The clinic is being held in conjunction with a Lodge event.

Appointments will not be made this year. It will be "first come-first served". Shot clients must be 12 years of age and older. Anyone under 18 must have parental consent.

Medicare Recipients must have a Medicare Card and a state picture identification such as a drivers license for the charge to be billed directly to Medicare by Maxim Health Systems. Other clients will receive a receipt which may be submitted to their health insurance company for reimbursement.

Costs for 2008 will be: Influenza (flu) $30 and Pneumonia $45.

County to give

flu vaccine

Sept. 29-Oct. 3

With Flu season under way, many contagious illnesses are circulating, putting some people at high risk for serious health problems.

The Levy County Health Department will be providing flu vaccines Sept. 29 - Oct. 3 from 4-6 p.m. to all ages. There will be a $20 fee for adults and no cost for children if they are eligible for the Vaccine for Children program. Call to schedule your appointment today.

Pneumonia vaccine is also available.

membership drive

The Williston Rotary Club will hold a membership drive at noon on Sept. 30. Local people can find out what Rotary is all about. Free lunch will be served. Call Maggie Crane at 528-9663 for location and to reserve a spot.
