Dinner for vets is today

AmVets Post 444, 115 N.E. Sixth Blvd. Williston, is hosting a free Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday Nov. 22, Thanksgiving Day, from 5-7 p.m. It is open to the veterans and their families.

The club is receiving contributions from Hitchcock?s and Winn Dixie. For information call 528-2550.

Reunion meeting delayed

for WHS class of 1998

There will be no meeting on Saturday, Nov. 24, to plan the 10-year reunion for the Williston High School Class of 1998.

The meeting will be delayed until after the holidays. Details will be released later.

GOP meets Monday

The Levy County Republican Executive Committee will hold its monthly meeting at Bell?s Restaurant in Chiefland at 6:30 p.m. on Nov.26 for food and lots of fellowship followed by the meeting at 7 p.m.

There is lots to talk about, share and plan. Meetings are always up to any Levy County Republican.

EZDA meets Nov. 28

The Enterprise Zone Development Agency (EZDA) will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 9 a.m. at Levy Abstract and Title, 50 Picnic Ave., Bronson. The EZDA will not have a December meeting. Monthly meetings will resume in January 2008.

The agenda is pending.

Poinsettias for sale

by FFA at WHS

Poinsettias are almost red and ready to go on sale just in time for the holiday season. The Williston High School FFA chapters are once again selling Poinsettias to raise money for upcoming events and activities. The plants cost $7.50 each and may be purchased as a single plant or in bulk. The price includes the plant, pot, wrapping paper and instructions on how to care for the plant. They are sold right out of the greenhouse located behind the Ag shop at Williston High School. We will also be offering a limited supply of white poinsettias which will be hand decorated.

TDC meets Nov. 29

The Levy County Tourist Development Council will meet on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m. at the Visitors Bureau Office, 620 N. Hathaway Ave., Bronson. Call 486-3396 for more information. The meeting is open to the public.

Gospel Choir plans

music Nov. 30, Dec. 1

The LTD Gospel Choir of Williston will be hosting a Reunion weekend.

The LTD Gospel Choir, formed in 1979 as an interdenominational music ministry, included youth, young and older adults from the Williston, Raleigh, Archer, and surrounding communities. They ministered through gospel music in many churches in the local and surrounding communities.

Gospel music service will be held at the Nolan Baptist Church (Raleigh) on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and a Reunion Concert on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m., featuring the former members of LTD and others. Everyone is invited.

Toys for Tots fund-raiser set

On Sunday, Dec. 2, a fund-raiser will be held at Cole's Four Corners Bar, U.S. Highway Alt. 27 and State Road 24 in Bronson, from noon to 6 p.m. There will be music and food. If you bring a new unwrapped toy with you the food will be free, otherwise it will cost $4 a plate.

Also, if you cannot afford to buy Christmas gifts for your children, applications will be accepted for receiving toys from Toys for Tots on Dec. 3 at the Veterans Service Organization on Court Street in Bronson (next to the Courthouse).
