Cemetery cleanup planned

Old or New Bronson Cemetery, Rosemary Hill Cemetery, or Bronson Cemetery of Rosemary Association? These are one in the same.

The Harmony Holistic Healing Center has chosen this cemetery as its 2008 project to help clean up and beautify the community.

The center spoke to Donald Holmes and received permission to take on this project. It was started by bleaching, pressure cleaning the wall and then painting it. Harmony Holistic Healing Center donated 40 gallons of paint and sealer and the equipment, 10 gallons of paint was donated by Sunrise Painting in Bronson and the bleach and gas cost was $38. The center hopes the community enjoys it.

There is a sign that has been donated by A /C Printing & Signs in Williston and the center needs your help to figure out what will be on the sign. The center has been researching the history of this cemetery and found out it has several names. They are also trying to find out when this cemetery became a cemetery? The earliest date recorded on a tombstone is 1820's (Library information- Search for Yesterday). The earliest date recorded in public record at the Bronson Court House is 1906 was Scottie Pearl Marshburn. If you have any information on this cemetery, please contact the center.

All family members are invited to help clean up the cemetery on March 15, around 10 a.m. Volunteers will be there to assist families with cleaning up the grave sites and volunteers will be picking up the trash, limbs and debris around the cemetery.

Harmony Holistic Healing Center is a faith based outreach helping the community with its needs. It is located at 10691 N.E. 109 th St. - University Oaks, Archer. Phone 486-6229 and leave a message, or e-mail at Harmonyheals777@aol.com.
