TDC to meet

The Levy County Tourist Development Council will meet on Thursday, May 29, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Visitors Bureau Office, 620 N. Hathaway Ave., Bronson.

EZDA changes

meeting schedule

The Levy County Enterprise Zone Development Agency has changed its meeting schedule to bi-monthly. The following are the regularly scheduled meeting dates:

Wed., June 2, at 9 a.m.

Wed., Aug. 6, at 9 a.m.

Wed., Oct. 8, at 9 a.m.

All meetings are held at Levy Abstract & Title. June's meeting may be relocated to view a possible banquet site.

Banquet date tentatively set for Tues., Oct. 21, in Williston. More information to follow.

SHINE to hold

free counseling

SHINE, a volunteer program with the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, will be conducting free and confidential counseling on Medicare, Medicaid, Supplemental Insurance, Part D Drug Plans, and Prescription Assistance

Auction set as

part of Yulee Day

The First United Methodist Church of Archer is having an auction on Saturday, June 7, as part of the Yulee Day celebration in Archer. Preview is at 11 a.m., auction at 2 p.m.

Donations already received include roll-top desk, full-sized pool table, church organ, spinet piano, Kayak tour for two in Volusia County, antique chairs, reproduction antique country table, household items, child's antique glass washboard, jewelry, signed prints and paintings, old and new glassware, decorative items, new and old dishes, electronics, cookie jar, shelf, old games, books, knick-knacks, collectables, recipe books, movies and video games, craft items, sewing items, dishes, chairs, tables, lamps, holiday items, kitchenware, gift certificates to local restaurants and stores, and much more.

Proceeds of the auction are designated to support special projects of the church, including improvements to the historic sanctuary, audio system and more.

Benefit barbecue

will be June 7

A benefit barbecue dinner with all the fixin's for the family of Steve Boyd will be held Saturday, June 7, at the Junction Tavern, 120 N.E. Sixth Ave., Williston, starting at 3 p.m. The barbecue is $7, and were will be live entertainment, raffles, 50/50 drawing and more. Sign up for covered dishes at The Junction.

Church youth

to hold car wash

The youth of Jones Temple A.M.E. in Williston will hold a car wash on Saturday, June 7, beginning at 9 a.m., in the parking lot of Knauff Funeral Home on Noble Avenue.

The proceeds will be dedicated to sending a group of young people from the church to the AIMS convention in Daytona Beach later in the month. AIMS is an educational foundation that provides grade-specific materials that are used in programs at the church. At the convention, the young people engage in competitions like the "Math Olympics," competing against others from across northern and central Florida.

Watermelon event

to be held June 7

The 54th Annual Chiefland Watermelon Festival will be held on June 7. Area residents and guests are invited to come out and enjoy a wide variety of events, including contests, arts, crafts and food vendors. 'Old School Prom'

to be held June 14

The first "Old School Prom" for those age 40 and up will be held at the Williston Middle School Cafetorium on Saturday, June 14, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 a couple or $15 single.

Munden family

will hold reunion

The Munden family will hold its annual reunion on June 8 at Hart Springs in the a/c pavilion A & B. If you are a descendent of the late Daniel Munden and LouVina Osteen Munden, you are invited to come have a fun filled day getting to know other family members. Bring family pictures and any family history memorabilia that you would like to share.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Bring your favorite dish to share. All plates, eating and serving utensils, coffee and tea will be furnished.

Class of 1990

to hold reunion

Williston High School class of 1990 is planning a reunion for Aug. 16.

Evening festivities will begin at 6 p.m. (social hour) with dinner to follow at 7 p.m. at the Williston Golf and Country Club. The cost will be $35 a person. A special account has been set up at Perkins State Bank. Please deposit money with attention to Todd Etheridge- Class of 1990. The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Ribbon Cutting/Business After Hours event at Bridle Trace Equestrian Community today, Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Grand opening and tours of the property will continue May 30 to June 1 where residents can take advantage of special pricing.

Bridle Trace is a Private Gated Equestrian Community composed of 25 10-acre parcels located in Morriston.
