Bethany Church

to hold centennial

On July 25-27 the Bethany Church of Christ will celebrate its centennial with a gospel meeting.

Each day one of the men who previously preached at this church will return with a lesson on how the Love of God can save your soul, and preserve a congregation of believers for 100 years.

Morriston Church of Christ is "Celebrating 100 Years" with a gospel meeting July 25-27.

Guest speakers include: July 25 at 7 p.m. Wayne Yancey; July 26 at 7 p.m Kent Heaton; July 27 at 10 a.m. Andrew Carswell, at 11 a.m. Will Harrison and at 6 p.m. Tom Clary.

Morriston Church of Christ is located 1/4 mile west of U.S. Highway 41 on CR 326.

Bake sale, car

wash in Bronson

The Bronson Friends of the Library will hold a bake sale on Friday, July 25, from noon to 5 p.m. and on Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bronson Library.

The group will also be holding a car wash across the street in IGA's parking lot on Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A car wash will cost $3 for each vehicle.

All proceeds will go toward purchasing a flag pole to display our flags outside of the Library.

Free market

this Saturday

Church House of Restoration Shalom hopes to bless the community of Williston by offering a free market on Saturday, July 26, beginning at 10 a.m.

The market will be held in the church's parking lot and will be offering lots of interesting things for all ages.

Pastors Omar and Magaly Rosado will be greeting everyone personally.

GOP to meet

The monthly meeting of the Levy County Republican Executive Committee will be on Monday, July 28, at Bell's Restaurant in Chiefland. The group starts with food and lots of fellowship at 6:30 and then the meeting will be called to order at 7 p.m.

Levy 4-H

seeks members

Attention all 5 to 18-year-olds interested in becoming a 4-Her (must be 5 by Sept. 1). Levy County 4-H will kick off the new 4-H year with Round-Up on Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Extension Office in Bronson. If interested in participating in the Hartley BBQ Chicken Contest please contact the office at the number below for information.

The August County Council meeting will be held Monday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. at the County Extension Office in Bronson. This will be the planning meeting for Round-up. Everyone is invited to attend. More information about Round-Up will be placed in the newspaper after Aug. 11 or you can call the 4-H office at 486-5131.

Crafters are invited to participate in the Community Carnival Celebration on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the grounds of the Bronson United Methodist Church, 235 Court St., Bronson. Reunion planned

The Poley Horne Reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 3, at the Levy County Quilt Museum. S.J. Hall will be entertaining, bring your guitars and fiddles and food. For information, call 493-2801.

Youth League

holds signups

Bronson Youth League registration for fall football, cheerleading and soccer has begun. All registration forms and fees must be turned in at Bronson Town Hall. Football and cheerleader fees are $75. Soccer fees are $60.

The final day to register is Saturday, Aug. 23. We are also seeking teams to participate in adult co-ed softball games on Saturday, July 26.

Teams can be registered at the town hall and will need to arrive at the field by 5:30 on the 26th.

Youth League meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at the town hall. All concerned parents and guardians are welcome to attend the meetings.

County Wellness

Coalition to meet

The Levy County Wellness Coalition will be meeting July 31 from 6-8 p.m. at Bronson Middle High Auditorium.

The Levy County Wellness Coalition is a community organization whose mission is to educate, enrich and empower the people of Levy County to achieve optimal healthy living. The group will be working on improving health status by improving access to health and health education.

All people who live, work and play in Levy County are invited to participate so that the Coalition will represent the people.

A "meet and greet" organizational meeting for any one interested in participating in the formation of a new an ELCA church in the Archer-Bronson-Williston area will be Sunday, Aug. 10 from 3-5 p.m. at Bronson Town Hall, 660 E. Hathaway Ave.

The Rev. Gerald Wahl from the Mission Board of the ELCA will be present to answer questions and assist in initial organization.

Gospel concert

set for Aug. 9

First Baptist Church of Rainbow Lakes Estates will host The Anchor, a gospel quartet, in concert at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 9. The church is located at 19756 SW Beach Blvd. in Rainbow Lakes Estates Subdivision, about six miles north of Dunnellon.

Jesus Carnival planned at Bronson UMC on Aug. 2

Come to the Bronson United Methodist Church, 235 N. Court St., Bronson to celebrate the Jesus Carnival on Saturday, Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be fun for the entire family. Moonwalk, games, lots of prizes, drawings, cake walk, bingo, crafts, music and entertainment. Food will also be available, including hamburgers, hot dogs, snowcones, popcorn and more. Come out and join Apostle Willie A. Battles, his wife Elect Lady Sharon Battles and the Unity Temple of Deliverance Outreach Center on July 24-25 at 7:30 p.m. nightly in Williston as they host this life changing conference.

This year's conference theme is: Let The Truth Be Told.

Special guests include: ministering on Wednesday night will be Apostle Halton "Skip" Horton, pastor and founder, of the Daystar Tabernacle of the Bright Star Church in Douglasville, Ga.; Thursday night, founder and host pastor, Apostle Willie A. Battles will offer a transforming word. Apostle Battles operates under a heavy prophetic mantle and has an anointing to teach others to prosper where they are; Friday night Bishop Wade McCrae of Union Cathedral of Valdosta, GA will minister. This man of God will bring a word to encourage and build the Body of Christ.
