-A A +A

Levy County Property Appraiser Oz Barker informed the Levy County Commission on Tuesday that this year's Truth in Millage (TRIM) notices will be hitting the mail today (Thursday) and Friday.

The notices are a way of notifying property owners of what to expect on their tax bills later this year and to also notify them of the public hearing dates for adoption of the final assessments and property taxes.

The public hearing on final adoption of the fire, emergency medical, solid waste and road assessments and the tentative property tax millage is Thursday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. in Courtroom A at the County Courthouse in Bronson.

The final adoption of the millage and county budget will be on Monday, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m. in Courtroom A.

The Levy County Commission is dropping the millage this year from tentatively dropping the millage from the current 8.3307 to 8.2741 mils. Residential assessments will remain the same:

fire at $90 per parcel; EMS at $119 per parcel; solid waste at $25 per parcel, and road assessments varying by location and work done.
