To the editor,
On behalf of the organizers of the Williston Health Fair, which was held at the farmers market on Saturday, June 27, I would like to thank the following for their volunteer participation: Sharlene Heyward from Levy County Health Department, Myrtle Hoffman from Center for Independent Living, Lyn Kertesz from Goethe State Forest, Anne Radach from AARP, Nature Coast Rehabilitation and Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine Thanks also go to the following groups who sent packets of information for folks attending the fair: USDA/IFAS Extension, Mid-Florida Area Agency on Aging, Levy Veterans Services and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
This event would not have been possible without the efforts of a number of volunteers who organized and promoted the event and showed up early to set up the tent, tables and signs for the participants. They are: Drollene Brown, Terry Grayson, Dewey Edwards, Al Brown, Sharon Reynolds and Karen MacLain.
These individuals and organizations, with very little lead time, put together an event that offered something to every member of our community. Without their help this fair would not have taken place. Even though the fair was cut short due to rain, the volunteers’ efforts will have a lasting effect. Their work is now the foundation for making this an annual event.
My thanks to all for making this happen.
