Special to the Pioneer
We held the first meeting of our new year on Sept. 8. President Eileen Nuce started the meeting by asking what we did during the summer. Two members had serious health problems; they were President Eileen and Carolyn Agazarm. It was good to know they are doing better now. Elsie Neal has continued to make a good recovery from knee replacement surgery.
Some of the members traveled during the summer. Delores Darpino returned from her trip with unusual souvenirs, two adorable kittens.
Two events were announced. The first is a yard sale at the Levy County Ag Center in Bronson. It will be on Oct, 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Clothing, toys, housewares, big items, and crafts will be on sale. This event is sponsored by Bronson Homemakers. Bingo will be played on Nov. 4 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bingo costs $5 to play. There will be prizes, and refreshments are available. The Bingo event is sponsored by the Levy County HCE Council and will take place at the Levy County Ag Center in Bronson.
We decided to meet in our homes this club year. We will be meeting in a different home each month on the second Wednesday at 10 a.m. Our October meeting will be at Carolyn Agazarm’s home. If you plan to attend and need directions call me, Irene Gilreath, at 352-528-5256. We also decided that each meeting would end in a covered dish lunch, so do not forget to bring something delicious.
We will discuss and decide a date to go to the lighthouse at Cedar Key at our October meeting. We will also plan and continue our doll-making project.
Come join us for our next meeting and enjoy lunch with us.
