Red Devil soccer fell to P.K. Yonge 6-2 on Friday night. The game was a physical match between the young Red Devil squad and the veteran Blue Wave team.

The Red Devils' senior captain Susie Smith was out with an ankle injury, and senior captain Abby Rodriguez was out for most of the game when she hurt her knee in the first half. The young Devils struggled in the first half, going to the break down 5-0, but came back with a strong effort in the second half, scoring two goals while only allowing P.K. one score.

P.K. Yonge Head Coach Pauline Hazan said she expected a physical game from Williston. She said the Devils came out very aggressive, especially in the second half.

Williston Head Coach Max Aguirre said since the district seeding is already set, his game plan was to play the rookies and get them as many minutes as possible. He said he plans to use the rest of the schedule to get the team ready for the district tournament, especially working on passing and wing play. Williston will face P.K. in the first round of districts.

The Red Devils will play Gainesville Eastside at home (Booster Stadium) on Friday, Dec. 21, at 6 p.m.

Stats: Goals: Sarah Markham 1, Chelsie Wright 1 (penalty kick).
