Hello and welcome to Your Sheriff?s Corner. As we begin to feel the first winds of winter, I would like to remind all our citizens to keep safety in mind when cranking up the fireplace or space heater, including making sure that smoke detectors are working.
Disaster can occur in seconds, but following a few safety tips will keep your family safe.
Be sure your heater is in good working condition. Inspect exhaust parts for carbon build-up. Be sure the heater has an emergency shut off in case the heater is tipped over.
