In a surprise move 30 seconds before the city council meeting adjourned Tuesday night, President Jerry Robinson tendered his resignation effective at 12:01 a.m. July 18.
Robinson, a council member since April 2011 and president since December, read, “It is with a very heavy heart and after much prayer and consideration I have reached a decision for personal reasons, that shall remain personal, to resign from the Williston City Council effective 12:01 a.m. July 18, 2012.”
Robinson’s position is up for re-election in 2013.
