Kenneth ‘Butch’ Ulmer
HOUSTON, TEXAS–Kenneth “Butch” Ulmer, 68, of Houston, Texas died Aug. 16, 2011 of cancer.
He was born April 22, 1943 in Wisconsin to Adolph Ulmer and Margaret Ulmer Grahn, and moved to Florida in 1952.
He was a graduate of Bronson High School and served in the Army. He moved to Houston in 1978 and worked in construction.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bonnie; sons, Ken Ulmer and Eric Ulmer of Houston; grandson, Austin Ulmer; sisters, Carol Williams of Williston, Joyce Sears of Bronson and brother Gary Ulmer of Orlando.
He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest son Christopher Ulmer.
Arrangements were under the care of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston.
Edward C. Watkins
Williston–Edward C. Watkins, 84, died Aug. 12, 2011.
He was born July 28, 1927, to Lonne and Madge Watkins in Rome, Ga. He worked most of his life as a Master Craftsman and loved working with wood. He had lived in this area since 1991 coming from Winter Garden. He was of the Methodist faith and belonged to the First United Methodist Church of Williston.
He was U.S. Veteran. He belonged to the Merchant Marines and later joined the Marine Corps. He was a member of the Elks and Masons. He enjoyed barbecuing and fishing.
He is survived by his sons, Bobby Watkins, Norman (Lynn) Story; daughter, Ruth (Bill) Dwyer; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a great-great- grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Billie Statham Watkins.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Haven Hospice, 311 N.E. 9th St., Chiefland, Fl. 32626.
Arrangements were under the care of Knauff Funeral Home in Williston.
