Norm Fugate appointed to Judicial Nominating Committee

A Williston attorney has been named to a Judicial Nominating Committee by Gov. Rick Scott, who announced six appointments to three such committees last week.

Norm Fugate, 54, president of Norm D. Fugate, PA, was chosen to serve on the Eighth Circuit Judiciating Nominating Committee. He succeeds Kathryn McLeod Lancaster and was appointed for a term beginning Aug. 4 and ending July 1, 2018.

Other appointments include:

• Fifth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission

 Donald C. Barbee Jr., 45, of Spring Hill, is the Clerk of the Court for Hernando County. He succeeds Michele Lieberman and is appointed for a term beginning Aug. 4 and ending July 1, 2018.

 Charles K. Ruse Jr., 65, of Ocala, practices predominantly in commercial litigation and foreclosures. He succeeds Del Potter and is appointed for a term beginning Aug. 4 and ending July 1, 2018.

 • Eighth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission

Stuart S. Walker, 56, of Newberry, is the managing partner of Folds & Walker, LLC. He succeeds Kristin Jurecko Stinson and is appointed for a term beginning Aug. 4 and ending July 1, 2018.

 Adam Boukari, 29, of Alachua, is the Assistant City Manager for the City of Alachua. He is appointed for a term beginning Aug. 4 and ending July 1, 2018.

 

• Statewide Nominating Commission for Judges of Compensation Claims

 

Victor Marrero, 60, of Pembroke Pines, is the Director of Risk Management for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning Aug. 4 and ending July 1, 2015.
