A March 31 letter from an attorney representing Tarmac America shows the mining company wants to delay consideration of its request for a special exception.
The Levy County Planning Commission would not consider the Kings Road Mine again until January 2009 at the earliest, if the request for a delay is granted. The letter to Chiefland Building and Zoning Director Rob Corbitt asks the Planning Commission to "hold in abeyance Tarmac's pending special exception application until at least January of 2009."
