Williston Middle School's baseball team ran its record to 7-1 Monday with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Fort White.
The win avenged the only WMS loss of the season.
Justin Baker pitched four innings, striking out four. Austin Etheridge relieved in the fifth inning and also fanned four.
Etheridge had a single, Max White had a triple and a single, Baker had a double, Damian Strange had two singles, and Dylan Blalock had a single.
Last week, Williston beat Chiefland, 11-0 in five innings, the first Devil win over the Braves in five years. White pitched a five-inning one-hitter. Bradley Jones had a single and a double, Etheridge hit two singles, White hit a triple and Blalock and Kevin Sketo each had a single.
On Thursday last week, the Devils downed Bell 24-2.
The game against Chiefland on Tuesday this week was rained out and rescheduled for Wednesday.
