Bronson victim in critical condition

A Bronson man being sought in connection with a shooting behind the Bronson Post Office — an area the Sheriff’s Office has said is know for drug dealing — turned himself in at the Levy County Jail at lunchtime on Thursday.

Aaron Sysvester “Doughboy” Hope, of Boundary Street, Bronson, was arrested on warrants for attempted homicide and three counts of aggravated assault. His bond is $800,000.

Earlier in the week officers recovered the vehicle he used to flee the scene of the shooting.

A warrant was issued for Hope after deputies responded on Saturday, April 25 to a 911 call and found the shooting victim, Cosmo James on the ground, bleeding from a gunshot wound, behind the post office.

The victim was airlifted to a hospital and is listed in very critical condition.
