Light Up Williston set for Dec. 1

The holiday season is just around the corner and the Williston Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the 10th Annual Williston Christmas Parade.  
The parade will be Saturday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. and will be the official start of the “2012 Light up Williston Festivities”.  This year the parade theme is “My Favorite Christmas Movie.”
There will refreshments and novelties presented by Relay For Life Teams beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Heritage Park Pavilion.  Once Santa Claus arrives and brings the parade through town, he will be available for pictures, also near the pavilion.  Proceeds from the evening will benefit the 2013 Relay For Life of Williston and other local community projects.  
Immediately following the Light Up Festivities at 8 p.m. guests are invited to the Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc  “Passing of the Leash” Ceremony at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Williston. There will be sweets, a silent auction and door prizes including a grand prize of a four-night, five-day Royal Caribbean Cruise for two.  Admission is a minimum $5 donation to the organization who donated highly skilled, federally protected medical service dogs to disabled veterans and other disabled individuals.
