The Levy County Sheriff's Office S.W.A.T. was called to Chiefland June 16 following an incident that left a home blasted with gunfire.
Lloyd Aaron Roosa, 37, of N.W. 90th St., was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest without violence after he allegedly shot up the home of his girlfriend.
According to the sheriff's office, the girlfriend told officers that Roosa had visited bars in Fanning Springs and upon returning home, retrieved a .22 caliber rifle from the bedroom and shot at her.
She left the premises but did not call authorities. She later returned and he allegedly fired several more times at her.
She then called 911 around 3:08 a.m.
Roosa then fired multiple times from inside the residence, the arrest report said.
The S.W.A.T. team was activated after the girlfriend told deputies that Roosa was a former Army Ranger.
The team cleared the residence and several sheds and barns on the premises.
Deputy Willie Barnes, a member of the Levy County Sheriff's Office S.W.A.T. Team, remained on the property and observed the suspect who returned to the residence around 1:40 p.m. and he was arrested without incident.
