Popcorn, cotton candy, the ferris wheel and more are all part of the allure when the Levy County Fair opens today (Thursday) at Williston’s Industrial Park, across from Horseman’s Park.
The gates open at 4 p.m. and opening ceremonies will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Open through Sunday, the county fair features entertainment, food, exhibits, livestock and all-around community fun.
This year, the gate fee is $5 and does not include rides, which may be purchased separately.
In addition to the traditional rides and food, live music is scheduled daily, as well as the racing pigs show.
Miss Levy County Fair will be crowned Friday night, and Saturday morning the Tiny Tots Baby Contest is scheduled.
The fair closes Sunday but not before a winner is crowned in the karaoke contest.
Re-enactors and exhibits will be showcased Friday through Sunday in the historical village. Livestock will also be on display and competitions, starting with the rabbit show Friday afternoon, continue through Sunday.
