To the editor:
On the afternoon of Feb. 8, 2010, my precious mother collapsed in the parking lot at Walgreen’s in Williston. Thanks to some kind person who saw her, 911 was called.
Although my mother was by herself that day, we have been able to somewhat put the events together that occurred.
Within moments, there arrived a team of men who we will be forever grateful for.
My intent is not to embarrass them by any means, but to recognize them for their dedication to their job and to let them know how very much we appreciate them.
Drake Doherty, Matt Cribbs, Joe Brooks, Jim Foran and Robert Ponte all had a part in bringing my mother back to life that day.
Levy County and the city of Williston are fortunate to have these knowledgeable and professional men in their employ.
Although sadly, mom went to her eternal home the following day, the efforts these men put forth gave us time to see her, talk to her and say our final goodbyes before she was taken from us.
I know all of the above-mentioned men would say they were just doing their job, but trust me, it was so much more than that to us.
I thank them again from the bottom of my heart and hope they will be recognized for the special professionals that they are.
