Lady Red Devils win Bell tourney

The Lady Red Devil Volleyball team took a convincing championship win over the weekend at the Bell Invitational Tournament.
The Lady Devils knocked off the Bell Bulldogs on Friday evening and took care of Hamilton County and Columbia County on Saturday to move into the championship game against a very good Chiefland Team.
The Lady Devils took the match downing the Lady Indians for the first place championship trophy.
On Sept. 19, the Lady Devils returned to district action as they hosted the Santa Fe Lady Raiders.
The Lady Raiders played  an outstanding match as they took the district win in four games, taking games one and two 25-21, and 25-19, before the Red Devils took game three 25-18.
The Lady Raiders returned to form and took game four for the match 25-18.
The Lady Devils played host to District foe Keystone Heights Sept. 20. The Lady Red Devils took it on the chin for the second straight night. The Lady Indians played  outstanding volleyball as they swept the match in three straight game.
The Lady Indians took game one on outstanding serves as the Lady Devils had trouble getting to the ball. After jumping to a 13-4 lead early, the Lady Indians closed out the win in game one 25-12. In game two it was more of the same great serves by the Lady Indians as they jumped out to a 6-1 lead.
The Lady Indians maintained their six point lead throughout the game to take the win 25-19. Leading the match 2-0 the Lady Indians again took the early lead 9-5 before the Lady Red Devils led by Haley Beckham, Morgan Vanasco and Rea Samuels, came racing back to take a 14-12 lead. The Lady Devils fought to an 18-15 lead before the Lady Indians took game three 26-24 to win the match. The Lady Red Devil JV team led by Shalako Corbert, fell to the JV Lady Indians and suffered their second loss of the season.  The Lady JV team had ran off five straight wins after dropping their season opener. Corbert played a pivotal roll in game one as the Lady Devils won 25-15.  The JV Lady Indians answered the challenge in game two and ran away for a 25-6 smashing of the JV Red Devils.Game three was a back and fourth affair tied at 13-13 before the JV Lady Indians pulled away for the 15-13 win. The Lady Red Devils  will face non-district  opponent Newberry Sept. 22 in the Williston gym. Game time is JV 5 p.m. and the varsity plays at 6:30 p.m.
