The Lady Red Devils finished their regular season play last week in true winners’ fashion as they swept the last two opponents of regular season play. Both games were road games with Lafayette (Mayo) falling in three straight games to Williston on Oct. 14 and Bronson taking their whooping on the 17th.
Williston finished the regular season as first seed in the district and a winning record of 13-2 in regular season non-tournament matches. The Lady Devils proved through determination, teamwork and dedication the front runner in the district and earned the right to be called first seed in the district tournament.
Williston began the district tournament on Oct. 22 facing off against Chiefland. Williston won both matches they have played against Chiefland thus far this year. With a win over Chiefland in the district tournament Williston will qualify to advance to the Regional Tournament scheduled for Nov. 5 and Nov. 9. Continued wins in the Regional Tournament will advance the Lady Red Devils to the State Tournament on Nov. 12-16. Dates and times and locations for the Regional and State tournaments will be announced after the completion of the District Tournament held this week.
