It took nearly 90 minutes Tuesday night for the Williston City Council to get on the same page and reject a proposed ordinance aimed at selling beer and wine near churches.
The ordinance, prepared by staff following a meeting two weeks ago where Pizza Hut management asked for council to review its ordinance that prohibits the sale of alcohol within 300 feet of a church. A storefront church opposite the restaurant prohibits the pizzeria from selling beer and wine.
