Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc. Raises Awareness for
International Assistance Dog Week with an Open House on August 9th
International Assistance Dog Week proudly celebrates the impact and services that medical service dogs provide for those dealing with disabilities. These highly skilled animals provide assistance such as guide dogs for visual impairment, hearing assistance, seizure and insulin alert, PTSD assistance, mobility, and much more. These amazing animals can take up to two years to fully train.
In honor of International Assistance Dog Week, Guardian Angels will be hosting an open house at our Williston facility headquarters, located at 3251 N.E. 180th Avenue on Saturday, August 9th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The open house will feature light refreshments, tours of our facility (weather permitting), previews of a potential weekly television show, video photo gallery, and a live demonstration by Elvira, our demonstration dog, who recently co-starred in the movie “A Blind Man”. Elvira will showcase for you some of the amazing things service dogs can do to assist their recipients. These incredible animals allow their recipients in many cases to go back to school, return to the workforce, and even start businesses.
This event is open to the public, and we cordially invite you to join us in celebrating these amazing animals.
