On Thursday, July 3, Williston will celebrate Independence Day, starting with the annual parade at 5 p.m. The parade theme is "Hometown Heroes".
This year the city is honoring two hometown heroes, Royal French and Catlin Mixson. They will lead the parade as grand marshals.
Following the parade, the gates at the Williston Horseman's Park will open at 6 p.m. with opening ceremony beginning at 7:00 p.m. There is no admission fee to this event. A $2 donation will be accepted for parking attendants, JROTC. There will be lots of food, rides, novelty booths, and musical entertainment to thrill the entire family. Please remember to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Also, no coolers will be allowed through the gates.
The evening will end with a fabulous fireworks display at sundown (about 9:30 p.m.).
