Williston Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire on Dec. 10 two miles north on CR 241 off Alt Hwy 27. On arrival Williston Fire units reported a log cabin style home with flames and heavy smoke coming from the roof. The on scene officer requested immediate assistance for water tankers and engines for Bronson, Morriston and Alachua County Fire Departments. Due to the homeowner calling 911 quickly and hard efforts of all firefighters the home should be able to be rebuilt even though the home had heavy damage to the roof.
