The public will get its say on a proposal to extend alcohol sales hours beyond midnight in the unincorporated areas of Levy County at a public hearing on May 7 at 6:30 p.m.
The unanimous decision to hold a public hearing came at the Levy County Commission’s regular Tuesday meeting.
Two tavern owners have asked for the extension to bring the county in line with neighboring counties. The tavern owners said they are losing business to other areas with a 2 a.m. deadline on alcohol sales.
