Head Football Coach Jamie Baker tendered his resignation to Williston High School Principal Eulin Gibbs last week. Baker will officially resign Nov. 22 at the end of the school day.
Gibbs said Baker approached him and said he felt it was in the best interest of the school and his family for him to pursue other business ventures.
Gibbs said he will entertain applications through January before making a decision.
“We are not only looking for the candidate to be a good fit for Williston High School but for the community as well,” Gibbs said. A substitute teacher will be assigned to take over Coach Baker’s gym classes until such time as a replacement is hired.
Baker did not return phone calls.
