Tourism Council

The Levy County Tourist Development Council will meet Thursday, March 2 at 6 p.m. at 620 N Hathaway Avenue, Bronson, FL (U.S. Alt. 27) –Levy County Road Dept. Office Building.

Wizard of Oz Debuts

The Chief Theatre will debut The Wizard of Oz March 3. The show will run each weekend through March 19 with matinees on March 11 and March 18.

Tickets are $10 for students, seniors, the military and first responders; $12 for adults.

Denim and Bling Gala

WE SOAR, Inc. will host a Denim and Bling Gala Saturday, March 4 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church Parish Hall.

Wear your best denim and jewels, participate in a silent cake Auction, win door prizes, enjoy live music and other presentations.

Tickets will be on sale until March 1. Tickets are $20 for ages 12 and up and $10 for ages 4-11.

WE SOAR, Inc. is a 501 (C) 3 tax exempt organization that promotes the arts and provide educational, recreational and mentoring activities for the youth of the community and nearby communities.

Williston On Wheels Car Show

The Sixth Annual Williston On Wheels Car Show, sponsored by the Friends of the Williston Police Department will be from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4 in Heritage Park.

The show is open to all vehicles and there will be 50 "Best of" trophies presented.

FOWL Book Sale

Friends of the Williston Library will hold a spring book sale from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4 in the building behind the library at 10 SE 1st St.

Ministry Yard Sale

Unity Temple International Fellowship Inc. Covenant Connections Marriage Ministry will have a yard sale March 4 at : Bills Tire 907 E. Noble Ave Williston to raise funds for its Annual Marriage Rejuvenation Sept. 8-10.

Football Booster Cake Auction

The Williston Football Boosters will host its first Cake Auction Thursday, March 9 at 7 p.m. in the WMHS cafeteria.

Proceeds will be used for new gear and equipment.

Ribbon Cuttings

The Williston Chamber of Commerce will welcome Healing the Heart Boutique as a member with a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday, March 9 at noon. The boutique is located at 135 SW 1st Ave., Williston.

At 1:30, the Chamber will welcome Red, White and Blues Farm with a ceremony at 3250 NE 140th Ave, Williston.

Both locations will offer open houses for those who want to see the services they provide.

Art At The Depot

The Archer Historical Society is accepting applications for vendors, artists and craftspeople of all kinds who would like to display and sell their art, homemade handicrafts, home businesses and food of all kinds March 11 from 10-4.

Civil War Reenactment

The 20th anniversary Nature Coast Civil War Reenactment will be held March 10-12 at Kirby Family Farm in Williston.

Friday, March 10 is Living History Day and it is open to the public from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The entry fee is $5 per person and includes a ride on a Civil War era train. Those attending will also have the option to purchase a ticket to the Saturday or Sunday battle for the half price cost of an additional $5.

A reenactment battle is held Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12 at 2 p.m.. The gate opens at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $10 per person and includes a ride on a Civil War era train.

FOL Book Sale

Bronson Friends of the Library will have a book sale Saturday, March 18 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Bronson Library. Friends will supply the boxes and charge $5 per box or you can purchase hardbacks at $1 each or paperbacks and children’s books will be 10 cents each.

Most of the books are coming from library bookshelves that have been taken out of the system.

AARP Tax Aide

A free AARP tax preparation team will be at the Williston Public Library, 10 SE 1st St., Williston Feb. 2–April 7 Thursdays only from 12:30-4 p.m.

Bring with you: last year’s tax return, Social Security cards for all persons included on the 2016 tax return. This is a must.

AARP Tax-Aide will use new IRS software this year and will not have prior years’ information.
