Childbirth/Parenting Classes

Tri-County Pregnancy will host Healthy Start Childbirth, Breastfeeding and Parenting Education Classes for women who are at least 27 weeks pregnant.  

Classes will be held at 426 West Noble Ave., Williston, from 1- 4 p.m. for each class.

• June 28 Breastfeeding/Newborn Characteristics/Hospital Procedures/Newborn Care/Soothing/Growth and Development

• July 5 Parenting/Home Safety/Accident Prevention/Choking/Minor First Aid/Car Seat Safety/Infant CPR

These classes are free of charge.  You may also call Tri-County Pregnancy Center after June 9.

The center will be closed through June 9.  


Hospice Volunteer Class

Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, licensed 1985, will conduct its next General Orientation Class for New Volunteers on Thursday, June 16, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at 304 North Main St., Chiefland. 

This class prepares volunteers to assist in our offices, at the Thrift & Gift Shoppe, at Herry’s Café and in community outreach work. 

To assist patients and their families, you will also need to complete the Patient Support Training Class, offered separately.

TEC Crape Myrtle Sale

Tomorrow's Equestrian Center will sell crape myrtle trees Friday, June 17 at the top of the hill. The one gallon plants are $3 each.

This a fundraiser for Tomorrow’s Equestrian Center.

Its mission is to provide recreational and therapeutic riding to mentally and emotionally disabled individuals. Place your order(s) now by calling 352-528-3445 or you can buy them off the truck. All the proceeds go toward building a barn.


WHS Class of '91 Reunion

Williston High School Class of 1991 will hold its 25th reunion June 18 at Manatee Springs State Park in Chiefland beginning at 11 a.m.




Medicare Help/SHINE

Pitmasters Wanted

Smokin-N-The-Country, a barbecue festival and cookoff is planned for Saturday, July 23 from noon until 8 p.m. at Cornelius Williams Park.

Hobby or professional cooks are invited to enter the cook-off and compete for a $500 cash prize.

Families can eat, drink, relax and listen to music or shop the vendors who are set up in the park.

Love Levy Help Center

Love Levy Community Help Center is open Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to assist residents with food, clothing and biblical guidance. 

Love Levy also provides information about other local organizations which can help with utilities, medical, housing and employment opportunities.

Mobile Food Pantry

The second Thursday of each month there will be a mobile pantry sponsored by From the Heart Ministry at the Masonic Hall in Williston.  The doors will open at 12:30 p.m.  All are welcome.

Narcotics Anonymous meets every Saturday at the Midway Plaza from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Alanon meets at 7 p.m. every Monday at Midway Plaza.


Tri-County Pregnancy

Tri-County Pregnancy Center is open to clients between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.  in the Williston Center.

Tri-County Pregnancy Center is a not for profit organization, helping area families in crisis and is located across the street from Williston High School.  Call 352-528-0200 for information.


Square Dancing

Clover Squares plans to dance through the summer on Wednesday evenings if there is  at least one square.  New hours are 7 - 9 p.m. at the Williston Crossings RV Resort community center, 410 NE 5th St., Williston.

Buy a Paver; Honor Veterans

The plan to unveil a veterans'/war memorial in Heritage Park is thousands of dollars away from fruition.

More than $20,000 is needed to erect the lighted memorial that will pay tribute to all branches of the armed forces. To date, less than a quarter of that money has been raised.

The memorial, a project by the Williston Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), will also honor veterans – living and dead – with stone pavers at its base. 

For $50 an individual can honor a veteran with a paver/brick that has space available for three lines to recognize the veteran’s service.

First United Methodist Church Mission Thrift store is open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. he store is located at 25 SW 3rd St., Williston.

American Legion Bingo

Landrum Memorial American Legion Post 236,  located at 9550 N.E. U.S. Hwy 27 Alt. Bronson has Jackpot Bingo every Monday night at 6:30 p.m. 

Players play for a chance of a $200 jackpot every Monday night.  Quarter bingo is held from 1-3 p.m. every Wednesday. Snacks and drinks are available. For more information call 352-486-5003 or 352-317-5685.



AMVETS Post 444 hosts bingo every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

VFW Post Meeting

VFW Post 5511 meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m.

The post is located on Hwy. 27, west of Williston.


Pre-school Storytime 

Pre-school storytime uses books and music to present young children with the concept that books, reading and libraries are fun and enjoyed at all ages. he programs last 30 minutes.

Storytime is held at the Williston Public Library every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.   Music With Ms. Sara begins at 10 a.m.



















 Williston Lions Club 

The Williston Lions Club meets the fourth Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. at the clubhouse, 401 SE 6th Ave., Williston. The club hosts regular weekly and monthly events for all to participate. New members and volunteers for those who want to help out in the community are accepted. Guests are welcome anytime.

Trikers Meeting

Chiefland Bingo

 Bingo is back at the Chiefland Senior Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays after exercise at 9 a.m. enjoy the craft classes. Card making has moved to Mondays and all other crafts are now on Wednesdays.
