Sniff Fest for Easter Eggs
More than 100 eggs will be filled with treats for dogs attending the Sniff Fest for Easter Eggs that will benefit the Williston Animal Group (WAG).
The fun will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at Trained Dog Happy Dog, 8575 NW 150th Ave., Morriston

You Be The Judge Auditions
You Be the Judge Talent Show auditions will take place Saturday, April 2 from 9 a.m. - noon at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church, 1045 NE 6th Blvd., Williston.
You Be the Judge is open to students in 3rd - 12th grades.  Judging categories will be as follows:
3-5th grade
6-8th grade
9-12th grade
The 4th annual You Be the Judge Talent Show will be held at 3 p.m. May 7 at the Williston Elementary School.

Highlands HOA Yard Sale
The Williston Highlands Home Owners Association is being rejuvenated and is looking for new members in the hope of keeping the Association active.
The Association benefits the entire neighborhood by maintaining simple standards that help keep the neighborhood safer and looking good.
As part of the process, the Association will sponsor a “Round the golf course yard sale” April 1-2.

Cruzin' for Kidz
The 8th Anual Cruzin' for Kidz Motorcycle Ride Fundraiser, sponsored by the Williston Elementary Safety Patrol, will be Saturday, April 2 at the school.
Cruzin' for Kidz is a law enforcement escorted ride through Williston, Morriston, Gulf Hammock and Bronson. The ride is free (but donations are welcomed and accepted) and registration is from 8:30 – 9:45 a.m. with kickstands up at 10.
A pulled pork lunch will be available upon return to the school for $8. There will be free coffee and donuts for riders.
Proceeds will benefit the Safety Patrol's trip to Washington D.C.

Piece of the π & Cake Auction
Some of Williston’s finest cooks will bake their most delicious creations in efforts to raise funds for the new Williston Middle High School (WMHS) enhancement projects in the Piece of the π & Cake Auction at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 7 in the Williston High School Cafeteria.
Projects enhancements include campus and roadway entrance landscaping, re-framing portraits, constructing trophy cases and the Limbaugh-Dunlap-Phinney on-site memorial. The auction is open to the public and sponsorships and assistance with baked goods is welcomed. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Williston Alumni Association Projects For Williston Middle High School Development.

Gospel Fest
New Zion A.M.E. Church of Raleigh will sponsor Gospel Fest 2016 Saturday, April 9 in downtown Williston. Vendor spaces are available and are $75 if reserved before March 28 – after that they are $100.

Interested vendors may also come by the church between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. this Saturday, March 26 to fill out an application.

DAV Poker Run
The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Tri-County Chapter 63 will sponsor a Poker Run and Raffle to raise money for local veterans.
DAV is the most long-lasting veterans’ advocacy and assistance group in the country. The DAV is dedicated to a single purpose: Empowering veterans to lead high quality lives with respect and dignity.
DAV offers financial support to the veterans in nursing homes, hospitals and assisted living. Veterans don’t always have the basic necessities during their stay. The fundraising efforts help provide these items.
The poker run and raffle will be held April 16 and will start start at Bett’s Big “T”  in Chiefland;  proceed to Willard’s in Williston; continue to Los Avina in Archer and Cherry’s Seafood & Steak in Trenton, then finish at Beef O’ Brady’s in Chiefland.
Registration fee is $20 and an extra poker hand is $10.
Early registration fee is $15 if registered by April 9.
Raffle tickets are available: one for $1 or six for $5 and you do not have to be present to win.

Relay for Life
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Williston will take place Saturday, April 16 with event festivities beginning at 2 p.m. at Williston High School Football Field.
Join local volunteers and participants from the community and celebrate cancer survivors, remember those lost to the disease, and take action to save more lives from cancer. The opening ceremony, which includes a special Survivors’ and Caregivers’ Lap, will begin at 6 p.m. A Luminaria Ceremony to honor cancer survivors and remember those lost to cancer will take place at 9 p.m. The closing ceremony will be at 7 a.m. Sunday.

Water Program
Tri-county Working Group of Suwannee-St. Johns Sierra Club will present Water Works: Stand Up and Act Now at the Williston Woman’s Club, 1049 NE 6th Blvd.,Williston,Thursday, April 21 from 6:30- 8 p.m.
Water Works: Stand Up and Act Now is an interactive, presenter-led PowerPoint program that translates scientific facts into common language, detailing the specific impact of Florida’s and especially the tri-county’s (Citrus-Levy-Marion) water problems on jobs, property values, lifestyles, ecotourism and most importantly, our drinking water.
Developed by a Sierra Club Task Force from a variety of scientific and governmental resources, Water Works: Stand Up and Act Now also describes the impact of population growth and development in the next 15 years upon current and future water resources in the tri-county area. Attendees will learn specifically why we should care about what’s happening to our local springs, rivers, and drinking water, and what we can do about it.

Woman's Club Bazaar
The GFWC Williston Woman's Club will hold a bazaar and yard sale Saturday, April 23 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the clubhouse, located at 1049 NE 6th Blvd., Williston.
Tables are available to rent for $10. Food will be available.
Proceeds will benefit the Williston Community Theater.

Love Levy Community Help Center is open Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to assist residents with food, clothing and biblical guidance.

Buy a Paver; Honor Veterans
The plan to unveil a veterans'/war memorial in Heritage Park is thousands of dollars away from fruition.
More than $20,000 is needed to erect the lighted memorial that will pay tribute to all branches of the armed forces. To date, less than a quarter of that money has been raised.
The memorial, a project by the Williston Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), will also honor veterans – living and dead – with stone pavers at its base.
For $50 an individual can honor a veteran with a paver/brick that has space available for three lines to recognize the veteran’s service.

American Legion Bingo
Landrum Memorial American Legion Post 236, located at 9550 N.E. U.S. Hwy 27 Alt. Bronson has Jackpot Bingo every Monday night at 6:30 p.m.
Players play for a chance of a $200 jackpot every Monday night.

Williston Lions Club
The Williston Lions Club meets the fourth Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. at the clubhouse, 401 SE 6th Ave., Williston. The club hosts regular weekly and monthly events for all to participate. New members and volunteers for those who want to help out in the community are accepted. Guests are welcome anytime.

Trikers Meeting

 Bingo is back at the Chiefland Senior Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays after exercise at 9 a.m. enjoy the craft classes. Card making has moved to Mondays and all other crafts are now on Wednesdays.
