Loaves and Fishes Cookbooks

Women's Missions and Ministries of First Baptist Church of Williston has published a 450-recipe hardcover cookbook as a fundraising effort in support of Samaritan's Purse children's ministries among the war refugees in Iraq and Syria.

  Books are available in exchange for a $15 donation.  There is a contest for high-quality handmade prizes to be awarded Nov. 29 to three people who make the most donation-cookbook exchanges.  Prizes are valued at $75- $150 and  will be on display at the Fall Festival of First Baptist Williston from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 1.

CEE Open Luncheon

Citizens for an Engaged Electorate hosts its monthly Open Discussion Luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Melanie’s Restaurant, 112 E. Noble in Williston. Join any discussion going on within the group or start one of your own. No topic is off-limits, so long as it’s respectful.

Square Dancing

The Clover Squares of Levy County  square dance Friday evenings at the Ornan Masonic Lodge, 650 NE 6th Blvd. (SR 121) in Williston. 

Workshops begin at 6:30 and the dance is at 7:30.  New classes will begin at 6:30 Nov. 6 with two free introductory dances Oct. 30.

AL Auxiliary Yard Sale

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 236 will hold a yard sale  Saturday, Nov. 7 from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. at  9550 NE Highway ALT 27, Bronson.

There will also be a bake sale.

Anyone wanting to reserve a spot may due do so for $10. Bring your own table for the outside sale.

To reserve a spot, call the canteen between noon and 6 p.m.

 

FOL Book Sale

Bronson Friends of the  Library will hold a book sale Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. 

Books can be purchased by the bag for $1.

The next Heritage Park Market will take place  Nov. 14 from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. at Heritage Park, Williston (Clock Tower Pavilion).

Pistol Class/Fundraiser

A Basic Pistol Class,  hosted by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, will be held at 8 a.m. Nov. 14 at  the Levy County Sheriff's Office classroom at 9150 NE 80th Ave., Bronson.

This will qualify those taking the class for the Florida concealed weapons license.

The fee is $65 if applicants register online and $75 the day of the class.

This is a fundraiser for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch.

Zumbathon

A Zumbathon to raise awareness and funds about diabetes will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. at Bronson Middle High School Nov. 14.

The entry fee is $5 and all proceeds will go to the Florida Chapter of ADA.

There will be free giveaways, music and fun.

TEC Auction and Barbecue

Tomorrow's Equestrian Center's annual charity auction and barbecue will be Saturday, Nov. 14 at United Hay Sales, 13101 W. Hwy. 326, Ocala.

There will be stick horse barrel races, a wheel of fortune, silent auction, bull chip bingo and more.

Barbecue tickets are $8 and take out is available.

The preview is at noon and the auction begins at 2 p.m.

Two Hawk Hammock Aquatic Dream

Two Hawk Country Circus will present “Aquatic Dream” Nov. 21 at Two Hawk Hammock, 17950 NE 53rd Lane, Williston. 

Shows are at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Gates are open from noon until 7 p.m.

Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door, children 12 and under are free. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Florida Springs Institute to help raise awareness of aquatic ecosystems.
