Freak accident claims life of Williston man

One man was killed and another seriously injured this morning when a tire came off a vehicle traveling on US 41N, went airborne and went over a 6-foot chain link fence where it struck Ivan J. Sandquist, 33, of Williston killing him instantly.

Williston Police Chief Dennis Strow said the accident occurred a little after 9 a.m. Monday at Absolute Auto Body on NW 10th Avenue.

James E. Fender, 45, of Williston also sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Shands.
