It's springtime in Williston, and officially summertime is just six weeks away. Those pleasant daytime temperatures and cool sleeping nights are a thing of the past. The thermometer has started to creep up to 90 degrees plus and the humidity is just around the corner.
At Williston High School, this means the start of spring football practice.
The Red Devils have started this 2014 spring practice with a new outlook on the upcoming sessions.
For one thing, they have a new head coach, Cliff Lohery, and instead of the usual 20 or so young men dressing out for spring practice, there are 36. This is a good start for the new coach and his staff.
The players are working hard on their plays and getting ready for the upcoming Spring game.
The Red Devils will travel to Interlachen May 23 to take on the Rams at 7 p.m.
To get your team roster and 2014 game schedule, be sure and pick up your copy of the May 22 Williston Pioneer newspaper.
There will be more pictures and team information in the May 22 edition.
