The second annual Miss and Little Miss Levy County Fair contest is set to kick off. Young ladies from all over the county are encouraged to participate. The contest and crowning will take place on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 6 p.m. Plan to come and cheer them on. If you're interested in participating please visit the Web site for details.
The first ever huge Levy County Halloween Spooktacular will be held this year. Here's the rundown! Come to the Williston Chamber's Trail of Treaters to visit the business district of Williston for great treats, than come out to the last stop on the trail, the Fairgrounds, where your paid gate admission will include more treats for the kids at the gate, followed by a huge costume contest with prizes, held in the fair grounds, along with all the free rides and entertainment you can handle.
The JROTC of Williston is hosting a very scary haunted trail along side the Fairgrounds. The Haunted Trail's admission will be half-price with Fair wrist band.
The Lake County Sheriff's Posse has agreed to demonstrate its mounted posse all night on Thursday. Lights, sirens and crowds are no problem for the mounted posse.
Their superior demonstration of equestrian skills can be enjoyed by all.
The second Annual car, truck and motorcycle show along with Freestyle Motocross sponsored by Santa Fe Ford and Articat will be the highlight of Friday and Saturday's entertainment. Remember every night is a cruise-in at the fair. Attend the fair with your show ready car, truck or motorcycle and let your gate admission gain you premium front row parking inside the Fairgrounds, where '50s and '60s music will set the ambiance at the display area.
