The Williston Red Devils squashed the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave 58-20 Friday night at Williston's Booster Stadium.

P.K. Yonge opened the scoring in the first quarter on a long pass from Carlon Hunt to Devin Wilson for a touchdown. Later in the first quarter Williston answered with a touchdown of their own when Courtney Days fought his way into the end zone from five yards out. The extra point kick by Chris Priest was good to tie the game at 7-7.

Williston and P.K exchanged possessions until near the end of the first quarter. After a failed P.K. possession, Blue Wave punter Ryan Thombs had the ball snapped over his head. Thombs chased and kicked the ball out of the end zone for a safety, saving P.K. from giving up a touchdown. With the two points from the safety Williston closed out the first quarter up by a score of 9-7.

After a 60-yard kickoff return by Travis Evans, Days again punched it in from six yards out to put Williston ahead 15-7. Red Devil QB Dalton Edwards ran in the two-point conversion to make the score 17-7.

At this point both the Red Devil and Blue Wave defenses asserted themselves and put a stop to the scoring for the remainder of the second quarter. Kalen Penny sacked P.K. QB Carlon Hunt to end the first half with Williston still leading 17-7. Second quarter highlights included Red Devil Desmond Holmes' drive-stopping interception of a special teams blocked punt.

Williston received the kick to start the second half, and early in the third quarter the Red Devils started lighting up the scoreboard with a 37-yard TD run by Travis Evans and two scoring runs (7-yard and 15-yard TDs) by Deonte Welch. It seemed like the blowout was on, but P.K. put up a fight, scoring twice in the third quarter on touchdown passes to Autis Gibson and Vince Hampton. The third quarter ended with Williston up 37-20.

The fourth quarter was all Williston as the Red Devil defense, led by Markuise Minor, Jordan White and Larry Debose completely shut down the P.K. offense, while the Red Devils kept scoring. Evans got a 10-yard TD run, which was followed by a special teams TD, with Derrick Jackson pouncing on a blocked punt in the end zone. Running back Dontrell Edwards closed the Red Devil scoring with a late game three-yard TD run to cap Williston's dominating 58-20 win over P.K. Yonge.
