Denise Arlene Kurth, 54, died after a brave battle with cancer Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at the West Marion Community Hospital.
She was born in Waukesha, Wis. to Arthur and Geraldine Maass. She lived in Greenfield, Wic. until moving to Williston in 1978.
She was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She worked as a homemaker as well as being her husband’s right hand in the family business, Kurth Electric.
She was inducted into the Ocala Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame. She was very involved with the Marion County USBC-BA. She was a youth coach for the Ocala YABA for 12 years. She worked in many bowling tournaments in the Ocala area.
She is survived by her parents Arthur and Geraldine Maass; husband Larry Kurth; son Tyson Kurth, and her sisters Lori (Gary), Tammy (Dan), Annette (Mike) and Stephanie.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Ocala Oncology Center in memory of Denise Kurth (433 S.W. 10th St. Ocala, Fl. 34471).
Funeral srvices were held Feb. 11 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gainesville with Pastor Roger Rockhoff officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Knauff Funeral Home.
