Levy County Animal Services offered a proposal at the County Commission meeting on April 18 to start a low cost spay and neuter program for Levy County residents.
In its request, LCAS argued that such a program would hopefully reduce the County’s pet overpopulation, making for fewer impoundments and euthanizations at the shelter.
The program would be available to pet owners who are older than 62 years of age and are of low income status, as determined by other types of government aid.
