  Saturday, March 9

Tri-County Pregnancy Center  will host a talent show for middle and high school students (grades 6-12).
Free auditions will take place Saturday, March 9 at 10 a.m. at the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church, 1045 NE 6th Blvd, Williston, next door to the Woman's Club on State Road 121.  
This will be the only audition opportunity, so it is vital that all potential contestants attend.
  If accepted, a $25 registration fee will be required.  If you do not have the finances, please get someone to sponsor you or contact the center.  Please have applications turned in before the audition.
The talent show, "You Be the Judge," will be held Saturday, April 27 at the Williston High School Auditorium at 3 p.m.  
 Joe Smith will be the emcee for the event.  The audience will actually judge the contestants.  First prize is $1,000, second prize is $500, third prize is $250, fourth prize is $150 and fifth prize is $100.
Registration forms are available at the schools and at the Tri-County Pregnancy Center across the street from Williston High School.

Movies in the Park
The WCHS Relay For Life Team and the Bronson High School Junior Class presents Movies In The Park
Admission will be $1 per person per movie.
Children 2 years old and under are FREE.
Please bring blankets and/or chairs.
Drinks, snacks, and glow-in-the-dark goodies will be for sale.
Saturday, March 9 see  Disney's Wreck-It- Ralph and on Saturday, March 16 see  Rise Of the Guardians
Movies will start at 7 p.m.
All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Monday, March 11

AARP Chapter 912 members and guests will meet Monday, March 11 in its new location, Thompson Hall at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 661 NW 1st Ave., Williston.
 The program, which begins at 9:30 a.m.,  will bepresented by the Crime Prevention Task Force of Florida.   For information call 528-3323.

The Williston Art League will meet Tuesday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m. in History Room First United Methodist.

Thursday, March 14

WW II Vets and Proud of it will meet March 14 in Trenton at Hobo's Restaurant  on 115 NW lst St.
The meeting will start at 11:30 a.m.

Peanut Producers
The Florida Peanut Producers Association will host it 38th Annual Membership Meeting Thursday, March 14 at the Jackson County Agriculture Conference Center, 2741 Penn Avenue, Marianna.
  This year's program will include a variety of updates on association activities and will focus on peanut  production research funded by your check-off dollars.
All peanut growers and spouses are invited to attend.  Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. (cst) followed by the traditional smoked steak dinner.

Refuge Open House
The Annual Meeting of the Friends of the Lower Suwannee & Cedar Keys NWRs and Refuge Open House will be  Saturday, March 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Refuge Headquarters off Route 347.
The Past and Future of Oysters and Oystercatchers in the Big Bend by Peter Frederick, Research Professor with the University of Florida Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, will be the featured presentation.
Lunch of barbecue chicken and ribs with swamp cabbage will be provided free to Friends members and will be $10 per person for nonmembers. Folks are encouraged to bring a favorite dessert for a pot luck contribution.

The Southern Junior Rodeo Association will hold its March Rodeo at Williston Horseman’s Park  March 16 at 11 a.m.
Prior to the event, a rodeo for special needs children will be held. The day begins with breakfast for the participants and their families, followed  by selected rodeo events. No live  cattle, horses or bulls are used in these special events.
Prizes include T-shirts, hats, etc for all  participants. There are no entry fees, everything is free.  
Southern Junior Rodeo Association is a not for profit organization.

The Rotary Club of Williston will have the Annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 23.

Thursday, March 28

Ribbon Cutting
The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce  will hold a  Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House for its newest member A Downtown Beauty Lounge Thursday, March 28 at noon.
The Ribbon Cutting will be followed by an Open House until 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
 A Downtown Beauty Lounge is located at 40 S. Main St. across from the police station in Williston.


Levy County Fair
Preparations are under way for the 2013 Levy County Fair, to be held April 11-14 at the Williston Airport Industrial Park, just across from the Williston Horseman’s Park.
Visit www.LevyCountyFair.com and click on the Creative Arts link to see all the Creative Arts categories; from Baking & Food Preservation, to Sewing and Hobby Crafts.  There will also be a Livestock Show that will include steers, heifers, dairy goats, meat goats, rabbits and poultry.
The Levy County Fair is not just a livestock show. It has a full midway with lots of exciting rides, attractions, games, tons of great food, a variety of exhibitors and much, much more all for one low gate admission price.

Crafters Wanted
Trenton’s Suwannee Valley Quilt Festival is seeking crafters and demonstrators for the 6th  Annual Festival scheduled for Saturday, March 16.  
The Festival, which attracts over 5,000  visitors, will be held in downtown Trenton, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Children’s Table
The Children's Table facility at 680 W. Thrasher Dr. Bronson, will be open to area seniors from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.  each Wednesday starting March 6.  Light lunch will be served.

Methodist Thrift Store
First United Methodist Church Mission Thrift store is open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The store is located at 25 SW 3rd St., Williston.

AARP Tax Aide
Free tax preparation and e-file with AARP Tax Aide is in effect from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Williston Public Library.
If you have an itemized return, make your appointment after March 1 due to delays in approval of tax law changes.

Pre-school Storytime
Pre-school storytime uses books and music to present young children with the concept that books, reading and libraries are fun and enjoyed at all ages.  The programs last 30 minutes.
Storytime is held at the Williston Public Library every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.   Music With Ms. Sara begins at 10 a.m.

Farm Bureau Scholarships
Levy County Farm Bureau is accepting applications for its 2013 Academic & Career/Technical Scholarships Award.

   Mobile Food Pantry
The second Thursday of each month there will be a mobile pantry sponsored by From the Heart Ministry at the Masonic Hall in Williston.  The doors will open at 12:30 p.m.  All are welcome.

Williston Art League
The Williston Art League meets the second Tuesday of each month at the First United Methodist Church in the history room. Residents of the Williston area over 18 years of age are invited to attend any of these meetings or call Helen Darling at 352-528-0911 after 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, for more information. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. and are usually concluded between 8- 8:30.
Members enjoy outings to points of interest throughout the area as well as various workshops scheduled throughout the year. You do not have to be an artist in any medium to become a member and join in these adventures.

Williston Garden Club
The Williston Garden Club meets the second Wednesday of the month September through May.
The club welcomes those interested in all aspects of gardening to attend a meeting, 9:30 a.m. in the hall at the rear of the First Presbyterian Church, 247 NE 1st St., Williston.

   VFW Post Meeting
VFW Post 5511 meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m.
The post is located on Hwy. 27, west of Williston.

Autism Support Group
Autism 4 Parents & Understanding U  will host the Levy County Support Group on   the last Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.
Families dealing with autism are  welcomed with open arms. Each month encompasses a new topic. Child care and   refreshments are available.

Tri County Pregnancy
Tri-County Pregnancy Center is open to clients during the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.  in the Williston Center.
Tri-County Pregnancy Center is a not for profit organization, helping area families in crisis, and is located across the street from Williston High School.  Call 352-528-0200 for information.

Senior Assistance
Assistance is available for qualifying residents of Alachua and Marion County over the age of 60 who are being discharged from the hospital or rehab center or have experienced an illness or other crisis and need temporary services in their homes. The Community Living Program can provide help for seniors who meet eligibility requirements.
 Services may include personal care, medical equipment and supplies, home delivered meals, transportation and many other types of help.  The Elder Helpline is toll free and available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For assistance,  call 1-800-963-5337.

Lions Club Thrift Store
The Williston Lions Club at 401 S E 6th St. is offering free outside space for anyone interested in selling their yard sale/ flea market items under the shade of the oaks. Bring your own tables.  It’s open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m Saturday.

Lions Club Bingo
The Williston Lions Club sponsors bingo every Thursday from 7-9:30 p.m.  at the clubhouse located at the corner of SE 4th Street and SE 6th Avenue.
