Class of 1991 Reunion
WHS Class of 1991's 20th reunion will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug 12 at Urban Cowboy in Ocala. Dinner Saturday night will be at Williston Highland Golf and  Country Club from 7:30-11:30 p.m. This will be catered with a D.J.
The cost is $50 a person.

Monday, Aug. 15

GOP Executive Committee Meeting
The Levy County Republican Executive Committee will restart its monthly meeting at Bubbaque’s Restaurant in Chiefland Monday, Aug. 15 starting with food and fellowship at 6:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7 p.m.  
The group is looking for Republicans who want to; 1) increase the Republicans in Levy County; 2) educate voters on issues; 3) increase Republican candidates; and 4) increase the voters at the polls.  

Thursday, Aug. 25

 Save a Life
Tri County Pregnancy Center will sponsor a workshop,  “Save a Life”  Aug. 25 beginning at 6 pm.
All pastors and people interested in hearing Mike Patz speak on behalf of Tri-County Pregnancy Centers mission are encouraged to attend.
The meeting will be held at the Methodist Church,  213 W Noble Ave., Williston.  Dessert and coffee  will be served afterward.

Walk for Life
The 12th Annual Walk For Life will be held  Saturday, Oct. 15.  Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and the Walk will commence at 9 a.m. 
 This year we a free breakfast is included for  all pre-registered walkers.  For those that cannot join the walk, sponsoring a walker is a great way to show your support of life. 
 Tri County Pregnancy Center is a  not-for-profit ministry that helps families in the tri-county area with practical needs in crisis situations.  The Williston office has been open over 16 years and last year it opened a Dunnellon office.  This year another location will be in McIntosh.

Nimitz Reunion
USS NIMITZ (CVN68) Association 14th Annual Reunion will be held Oct. 26-29 in Pensacola. Come help celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Naval  Aviation.

Williston Art League
The Williston Art League meets the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the history room of the First United Methodist Church on Noble Avenue.
Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18.
Meeting dates are  Sept. 13, Oct. 11, Nov. 8 and Dec. 13 (location for this meeting to be determined).

Angel House Thrift Store
Angel House Thrift Store at Holy Family Catholic Church, located three miles north of  Williston on Hwy 27A is open Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. every weekend.
This weekend because of the Men’s Club Flea Market on Saturday, there will be a special $2 bag day– all the clothes you can fit in a plastic shopping bag for $2. The ladies there will be happy to show you how to fold to get the most for your money.

Benefit Raffle
The Williston Lions Club is conducting a benefit raffle currently until Aug. 25, with proceeds to benefit Cpl. Brian Marra of the Levy County Sheriff’s Office and Lions club projects in general.
The raffle will consist of various items including gift certificates from various local establishments. A $1 donation per raffle ticket or six tickets for $5.
The drawings will be held Aug. 25 at the Williston Lions Club during Bingo at 401 S.E. 6th. Ave. between 7-9 p.m. Winners do not need be present to win.
Marra was answering a call and was injured in an accident while on duty.

Lions Club
The Williston Lions Club hosts Bingo Thursday at 7 p.m., with two jackpots. Bring a friend and get a free game.
The flea market and Farmers’ Market is open Saturday from  8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month. Volunteers and new members welcome.
The club is located at 401 SE 6th St., Williston.

Methodist Thrift Store
First United Methodist Church Mission Thrift store is open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The store is located at 25 SW 3rd St., Williston.

Volunteers Needed

AmVets Post 444, located on Alt-27 just past the BP station on the left side headed toward Bronson, has Bingo every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

First Baptist Church of Williston will hold Zumba Fitness classes with two certified Zumba trainers each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
