Relay for Life Yard Sale
The city of Williston Relay for Life Team will hold a yard sale, Saturday, Oct. 24 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the community center. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

Woman’s Club Fashion Show/Luncheon
The GFWC Williston Woman’s Club will host a luncheon and fashion show Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday Oct. 31. The event will take place at the GFWC Williston Woman’s Club building on North State Road 121. Only Saturday tickets remain.
The luncheon will be prepared by members of the club, and will begin at 11 a.m. Those who have previously attended will be astonished at the quantity and quality of the new fashions for 2009.
This event is being held for the benefit of Heifer International, an organization set up to help alleviate the root causes of hunger throughout our nation and the world.
The cost of tickets is $15, and can be obtained from Naomi Petteway, 528-3907, or Bunny Sandlin, 528-6762.
Trail of Treats
Trail of Treats will be held this year on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 6 – 8 p.m.
If your business plans to participate and give treats to area children, contact the Williston Chamber of Commerce so you are listed on the Trail map.
If your business is out of town and you wish to participate, you can do so by setting up a table in the pavilion in Heritage Park but let the chamber know so you, too, can be listed on the map.
The Bronson Pumpkin Festival is seeking area youngsters to enter a poster contest that will help publicize the Bronson Pumpkin Festival from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Bronson Youth Park.
The child’s name, address and parent contact information should be on the back of the standard size (24” x 30” poster). In addition to the event, date, and place, the poster should include this information: Live RADIO 98.5, games, music, food, rides, contests, auctions, prizes, face painters and trick or treat.
Entries should be in by Oct. 10 and may be taken to the nearest chamber office.
Bronson Pumpkin Festival
The Bronson Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the town of Bronson, will host its first Pumpkin Festival Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Bronson Youth Park.
There will be a Halloween costume contest, pumpkin carving contest, clowns and face painters, food and arts and crafts vendors.
There will also be a Pumpkin Festival Poster Contest in which all Levy County art classes are asked to participate. The poster contest rules are :
1. Posters must display the words "Bronson Pumpkin Festival" and the date Oct. 31, 2009
2. Posters should not exceed 24" x 30" (regular poster board size)
3. Posters must be turned in by noon on Oct. 14. They can be turned in at Bronson Town Hall 486-2354, Bronson Ace Hardware (486-4014) or Affordable Solutions (486-5066). In addition, posters can be turned in on Oct. 17 at the chamber yard sale in front of Affordable Solutions.
4. Content is not important as long as the criteria set forth in the rules are met.
5. Posters must be able to be displayed in the period leading up to the festival
6. Participant's name, age, and contact information should be listed on the back of the poster.
At the end of the day, there will be trick or treating for all the children.
Additional vendors and sponsors are needed. Call the chamber at 486-6150 if you would like to participate.

The Bronson Chamber will hold a Dessert Auction at its upcoming Bronson Pumpkin Festival on Saturday, Oct. 31. The Chamber is asking the “Great Bakers” of Levy County to participate and whip up something scrumptious for this exciting fund-raiser.
There is no limit on the size or type of dessert, so be creative. (No store-bought desserts permitted). Remember the better the dessert looks - the more money it will generate.

WHS Band Yard Sale
The Williston High School Band will have a car wash and yard sale Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. until 3 pm.
Toys for Tots Bike Run
The Fifth Annual Nature Coast Toys for Tots run will be Saturday, Nov. 21.
Register at Bubbaque’s in Chiefland from 10:15 a.m. until noon.
Riders will leave at 12:15 p.m. with a law enforcement escort and travel to Charlie’s Bar in Cross City.
A prize will be given to the best decorated bike. There will be live music, auction, vendors and food for a donation, in addition to a full service bar.
The toy run is authorized and sanctioned by the United States Marine Corps Reserve.

The GFWC Williston Jr. Woman’s Club will present “Casino Night”, a nontraditional fund-raising event New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31 at the Williston Highlands Golf and Country Club.
Mosey on down for some old fashioned fun and help us raise lots of loot for our local schools. Hang up your guns and enjoy a casual evening filled with a silent auction, casino gaming with local dealers and a heap of hometown hors d’oeuvre. The Lions Club has their food concession open every Saturday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. They are there to answer your questions and help you sign up for membership. There is an indoor flea market, table spaces are available. This week there will be many new items, including furniture and fresh seafood.

Handy with a Needle?
Stitches from the Heart needs volunteers to knit, crochet or quilt blankets, sweaters and hats for babies in need. These items are donated to hospitals all over the country. Patterns are available. Donated yarn for seniors is available.
