Bronson officials have stepped up to help feed the hungry, voting unanimously Monday night in favor of contributing town funds to the Food4Kids Backpack Program at Bronson Elementary School.
“I’m looking to see if the city would consider helping with the effort,” said program volunteer Peggy Rowe to council members, shortly before they voted to contribute $2,500 a year to the effort.
Rowe said the money will help 10 Bronson children, more than half of the 18 the program currently helps feed over weekends during the school year.
