Editor:
Just a little update. Thanks to the editorial you ran in the paper a few weeks back on the 18 Arabian horses rescued in Alachua County, I have received the following letter from the Sheriff's Department stating that they agree that their current policies were lacking in matters of animal abuse cases. They have confirmed that after reviewing my letters and being persistent in what transpired with these horses, they have rewritten the policy on the handling of animal abuse cases.
