Senior Horticultural Specialist Coordinate and monitor the propagation, cultivation and harvesting of several varieties of finished landscape products including trees and shrub flowering plants. Cultivate ornamental plants with high quality standards in a timely manner according to customer requirements. Oversee innovative techniques of horticultural engineering such as grafting, sexual and asexual propagation of ornamental plants, in accordance with OSHA, EPA, state and federal regulations. Supervise grafting and budding of new varieties of low chill peaches, persimmons, blueberries and blackberries. Supervise green house employees, as well as daily nursery maintenance. Maintain proper documentation required by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Requires: Master of Science in Horticulture with 5 years of experience working in a greenhouse environment, including: expert propagation by seed and cutting, biological pest and disease control, integrated management of nursery and greenhouses, and fertirrigation systems. Must have experience selecting flowering bulbs, annual, biannual, and perennial plant materials, including both herbaceous and woody plants.
